November 2020 Reflections

by | Nov 29, 2020 | News, Reflections

One of my 2020 goals is to pass 150,000 downloads on the podcast. I’m 97% there. I need less than 4,000 downloads by December 31 to reach that goal. WitW averages 3000 listener downloads per month, so this goal is a stretch but reachable. If you can, please help me by listening to at least 1 podcast before December 31.

Thanks for listening and welcome new subscribers! I’m grateful for your participation!

Meet Dr. Moore

Through the holidays, I’ll be featuring Dr. Erika Moore, one of my favorite Old Testament teachers, on the podcast. Her work is hard to find (outside of her classroom). I’m excited to share some of it with you. I hope you enjoy listening to her as much as I do.

Dr. Erika Moore is a Professor of Old Testament and Academic Dean at Trinity School for Ministry. In December, I’ll feature 3 of her talks on the podcast:

  • Introduction to the Prophets
  • There and Back Again: The Strange Journeys of the Glory of God
  • Did God Lie to Israel? Understanding Ezekiel’s Vision of the Future in Light of its Fulfillment in Christ

09 Holy Spirit Unity: Romans 15:1-13

As Paul deals with the issue of the “weaker” brother, he makes an important point about unity and the power of the Holy Spirit at work in all believers. Unity is not something that can be imposed from the outside or the top down. Unity is a work of the Holy Spirit bringing individuals together through their shared faith.

10 Holy Spirit: Baptism

While this topic is controversial, I think Scripture teaches that the baptism of the Holy Spirit has both an individual application (as applied to the apostles) and a universal application (as applied to all believers).

Why Bother with Jesus when I’ve got it made?

Professor Ken Elzinga answers the question: If your life is going great, why should you bother with Jesus?
