After gathering an idea of the word’s meaning from your own study, it’s a good time to check the conclusions of other scholars and reference works. Here are some free online places to look.

While archive.org makes these resources freely available, please note:

  • to check out books you must create a free account with archive.org;
  • they do not allow copy and paste;
  • they can be checked out only for one hour at a time (but they can immediately be re-checked out when your hour expires.

Nelson’s Expository Dictionary of the Old Testament by Unger, Merrill. Indexed by English word and then any related Hebrew nouns or verbs.
