You Voted, Ephesians Wins

Thank you for casting your votes to decide our next study topic! The results are in: Ephesians emerged as the clear favorite with 48% of the vote. Following behind are 2 Corinthians (24%), prayer (20%), and a few other suggestions (8%).

I’m excited to dive into Ephesians with you—it’s a rich and powerful book! However, I need to give you a heads-up: I’m not as prepared to tackle Ephesians yet, so there may be a slightly longer break between the end of our Gospel of John study and the start of this next one. I pray it’ll be worth the wait!

In the meantime, there’s still a lot to enjoy in the Gospel of John:

Exploring Jesus’ Mission in John 10-12

▶️ 19 Understanding Jesus as the Good Shepherd (John 10:1-21)

Jesus reveals more of his purpose as Messiah. He describes himself as both “the door” to salvation, and “the good shepherd,” who willingly gives his life for his flock.

▶️ 20 Why Jesus said “I and the Father are One” (John 10:22-42)

When Jesus pointed to his works as proof of words, he made the famous claim “I and the Father are one.” He is at least claiming to be the Messiah. How much more he’s claiming is debated.

▶️ 21 Why Jesus Delayed Raising Lazarus (John 11)

Jesus’s raising of Lazarus proves his authority over death, offering us confidence in his promise of eternal life and setting the stage for the cross.

▶️ 22 Mary Anoints Jesus and the Triumphal Entry Explained (John 12)

John 12 reveals a pivotal moment where Jesus’ ministry shifts toward the cross. Mary’s devotion and the triumphal entry highlight his worthiness, while Judas and the crowd expose the complexity of belief. Jesus affirms his mission: to die, rescue his people, and glorify the Father.
