I hope this finds you digging deeper into God’s Word this month.
I’ve been working through 2 Corinthians on the podcast, and honestly? It’s been convicting, encouraging, and eye-opening all at once. Paul’s letters have this way of meeting us right where we are, whether we’re wrestling with weakness, trying to discern truth from error, or learning what real gospel-centered generosity looks like.
New Book Coming in January
Before I forget: Start Strong: A New Believer’s Guide to Christianity releases January 9. The book and its companion workbook are available for pre-order now. If you know someone who’s new to the faith (or curious about it), this is designed to give them a solid foundation without overwhelming them. Or if you are discipling a new believer, this is a great book to read together. I’d be honored if you’d check it out or spread the word.
5 New Podcast Episodes on 2 Corinthians
We are about to wrap up some of the richest (and trickiest) parts of 2 Corinthians. Here’s what we covered:
- Episode 12: Why Gentiles Gave to Jerusalem (2 Corinthians 8-9 Background) — the backstory to Paul’s famous collection in chapters 8–9
- Episode 13: Cheerful Giver: How to Sow for a Lasting Harvest (2 Corinthians 8-9) — how generosity reveals faith and reflects God’s grace
- Episode 14: How To Confront With Christlike Meekness (2 Corinthians 10) — Paul’s example in chapter 10
- Episode 15: False Apostles: Why Were They So Convincing? (2 Corinthians 11) — why they were so convincing, and how to spot the real thing
- Episode 16: Thorn in the Flesh: How to Embrace Weakness (2 Corinthians 12:1-12)— what it was, why God didn’t remove it, and what it teaches us about weakness and power
Coming November 2: Episode 17 drops soon: Examine Yourself: Paul’s Warning to Corinth. Paul turns the spotlight from his own credentials to the Corinthians’ response. It’s a sobering and necessary word.
4 New Bible Study Resources
I also added four new resources to Bible Study 101:
- How to Study Epistles — a simple, six-step method for reading New Testament letters with confidence.
- How to Cross Reference — let Scripture clarify Scripture with a clear four-step workflow.
- How to Study Psalms & Proverbs — spot parallelism, read in stanzas, and respond in prayer.
- How to Use Commentaries — when to open them, how to compare them, and what to note.
These are designed to be practical, not intimidating. My goal is to help you feel equipped, not overwhelmed.
